Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of Dootyful Scoopers services and our website.

1. Who We Are

Dootyful Scoopers is a pet waste removal business operated by Traeden Jansen Nord, a sole proprietor based in Bonney Lake, Washington. Our website is located at dootyfulscoopers.com.

By signing up for service, submitting our contact form, or using our website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Services

Dootyful Scoopers provides residential and commercial pet waste removal, dog walking, cat litter services, and related add-ons in Bonney Lake, Buckley, and surrounding Pierce County areas. Services are offered on a month-to-month basis with no long-term contracts.

  • Service plans, pricing, and availability are subject to change with reasonable notice.
  • We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service at our discretion.
  • We are not responsible for pet waste that is not accessible due to overgrown vegetation, locked enclosures, or conditions beyond our control.

Certain services carry additional service-specific terms that supplement these Terms of Service. Our Vacation Check-In service is governed by the Vacation Check-In Service Terms, which you accept separately when booking that service. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a service-specific agreement, the service-specific terms control for that service.

3. Scheduling & Access

By signing up for service, you grant Dootyful Scoopers permission to access your property (yard, gate areas, or designated service zones) on scheduled service days for the purpose of performing pet waste removal or other requested services.

  • You are responsible for ensuring safe access to the service area on scheduled visit days, including securing dogs indoors or in a separate area.
  • If access is not possible due to a locked gate, aggressive animal, or blocked entry, we may skip the visit without a refund for that visit.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any scheduling changes or delays via your preferred contact method.
  • We send a gate closure photo and Dooty Report after each visit as confirmation of service.

4. Payment & Billing

Payment is collected via Square invoice. By providing payment information, you authorize Dootyful Scoopers to charge for services rendered in accordance with your selected plan.

  • Monthly plans are billed at the start of each service month.
  • One-time services (e.g., Deep Clean Reset, single dog walks) are billed upon scheduling confirmation.
  • Prices are listed in USD. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with at least 14 days' written notice.
  • Late or failed payments may result in a pause or cancellation of service.

Payment processing is handled by Square. We do not store your payment card data directly. See Square's privacy policy for details on how payment data is handled.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your month-to-month service at any time by contacting us via email or text. There are no cancellation fees and no long-term commitments.

  • Cancellation requests received before the next billing cycle will take effect immediately.
  • Cancellations received after a billing cycle has started will remain active through the end of that paid period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months, except at our discretion.
  • We reserve the right to cancel service with 7 days' notice if payment is not received or if service conditions become unsafe.

6. SMS / Text Messaging

Dootyful Scoopers uses SMS text messaging, delivered via Twilio, to communicate with customers. We send two distinct categories of messages, each requiring separate consent:

Account / Service Messages: These include service visit confirmations and scheduling reminders, arrival and completion notifications, Dooty Report summaries, gate closure photo alerts, and customer support replies. By signing up for service and providing your phone number, you consent to receive these account-related messages. These messages are necessary to deliver your service.

Marketing Messages: These include promotional offers, seasonal discounts, referral program updates, and other marketing communications from Dootyful Scoopers. You must separately and explicitly opt in to receive marketing messages by checking the marketing consent box on our sign-up form. This consent is optional and is not required to receive service.

How to opt out: You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any text message from us. Replying STOP will stop all text messages from Dootyful Scoopers, including service notifications such as visit confirmations and Dooty Reports. You will receive a single confirmation message after opting out. If you opt out but still wish to receive service-related texts, contact us and we will help you re-subscribe, or reply START to opt back in.

Message frequency: Account messages are sent at the time of each service visit. Marketing messages are sent occasionally and may vary in frequency.

Message & data rates may apply. Standard carrier rates for text messages may apply depending on your mobile plan.

No sharing of mobile numbers: We will not share, sell, or disclose your mobile phone number to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Limitation of Liability

Dootyful Scoopers will perform services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are not liable for damage to property that results from pre-existing conditions, undisclosed hazards, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • We are not liable for pet escapes, injuries, or incidents that occur when pets are not properly secured during service visits.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in question.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.

If you believe we have caused damage to your property, please contact us promptly so we can address the situation in good faith.

8. Acceptable Use

When using our website or communicating with us, you agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information about your service address, pets, or property conditions.
  • Use our website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the site.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse our staff or contractors in any form of communication.

We reserve the right to terminate service to any customer who violates these conduct standards.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active customers by email or text message. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Pierce County, Washington.
