Shopping for a poop scooper around here is weirdly hard. There are at least eight companies that serve Bonney Lake, Buckley, and Lake Tapps. Some publish prices, most want you to fill out a quote form, and the fees that actually decide your bill tend to live in the fine print.
So we did the homework nobody wants to do. We went through every service's website, pricing, and terms, requested quotes where we had to, and scored all eight side by side. The result is our new Best Poop Scooping Services in Bonney Lake guide.
Yes, we're on the list
We run one of the eight services, and we didn't pretend otherwise. Every score in the guide is explained, every competitor fact links to that company's own website, and the category weights are right there for you to disagree with. We came out on top, but we also lost some categories, and we say so:
- Two Sisters Scoop is a little cheaper than us for weekly service with one dog.
- Happy Tails has the best communication we found, down to a text 15 minutes before arrival.
- Swoop Scoop has more than 1,700 five-star reviews, by far the most on the list.
- Pet Butler offers the most services, including a pet shuttle nobody else has.
Every company on the list earned an award for something. Turns out there are a lot of good people picking up poop in Pierce County.
What we scored
Each service got a 1 to 10 score in seven categories, weighted by how much they matter once someone is walking your yard every week:
- Pricing & transparency25%
- Health monitoring15%
- Communication & visit proof15%
- Plan flexibility15%
- Yard coverage & standards10%
- Services beyond the yard10%
- Local presence10%
Three things that surprised us
The fine print is where the money is. First-cleanup fees, "lapsed service" fees, quarter-acre limits, and front-yard add-ons can move your real cost more than the advertised rate does. Pricing scores count all of it, not just the sticker price.
Almost nobody tells you what they saw. A weekly scooper sees your dog's output more often than your vet does, but only two other services on the list mention flagging health concerns, and we're the only one that writes it down after every visit and keeps a running history in the Dooty Dashboard.
Gate photos are becoming the norm. Most services now send a photo of your latched gate after each visit. If yours doesn't, it's fair to ask why.
